Tracenyx Pty Ltd ("Tracenyx", "we", "us") is an Australian company building Nyx — an AI-powered Kubernetes network security and observability platform.
This policy explains what personal and technical data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. It applies to:
We collect two categories of data — product data from your cluster and account data from you directly.
| Data type | What it includes | Why we collect it |
|---|---|---|
| Flow log metadata | Source/destination namespace, pod name, port, protocol, allow/deny decision, bytes transferred, timestamp | Power the observability dashboard, AI anomaly detection, and compliance reporting |
| Kubernetes metadata | Pod names, namespace names, labels, service names, deployment names | Build the topology view and correlate policies with workloads |
| Policy configuration | Your NyxNetworkPolicy and NyxClusterNetworkPolicy specs | Display policies in the UI and power AI policy analysis |
| Health telemetry | DaemonSet version, node OS, kernel version, enforcement mode, error counts | Monitor platform health and support diagnostics |
| Account data | Name, work email, company name, billing information (Sentinel/Aegis) | Account management, billing, support |
| Contact form data | Name, email, company, message content | Respond to enquiries |
Nyx is a network metadata platform — not a packet capture tool. We collect information about connections, not what was inside them.
If a payment service processes card numbers, Nyx sees "pod payments-api talked to pod database on port 5432 — allowed" — not the card numbers themselves.
We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not allow third parties to target advertising based on your data.
Nyx uses AI to analyse traffic patterns and generate policy recommendations. Here is exactly what happens:
| AI mode | What gets sent to AI | Available on |
|---|---|---|
| Standard (default) | Anonymised, aggregated traffic pattern summaries — no pod names, no IPs, no namespaces | All tiers |
| Private AI (opt-in) | Nothing leaves Tracenyx infrastructure — processing on our hosted model only | Aegis only |
In standard mode, anonymised pattern summaries are processed by our AI provider (Anthropic). We never send pod names, namespace names, IP addresses, or raw flow log records to any third-party AI service. Only statistical patterns — "namespace X has 40% more east-west traffic than baseline" — are shared, not records.
You can opt out of contributing anonymised patterns to cross-customer AI improvement at any time in your account settings. Opting out does not affect AI features for your own account.
All data is stored in Microsoft Azure. Your preferred region determines where your data is stored:
Flow log retention by tier:
Account data is retained for the duration of your account and for up to 7 years after account closure as required by Australian tax and corporate law.
Contact form data is retained for up to 2 years.
We share data with the following third parties only where necessary to operate the platform:
| Provider | Purpose | Data shared |
|---|---|---|
| Microsoft Azure | Cloud infrastructure, storage, messaging | All cluster and account data (in your selected region) |
| Anthropic (Claude) | AI analysis (standard mode) | Anonymised, aggregated pattern summaries only |
| SendGrid (Twilio) | Transactional email | Name and email address for delivery |
We do not share data with any other third parties. We will disclose data to law enforcement or regulators only when required by Australian law and will notify you where legally permitted to do so.
Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and applicable laws you have the right to:
To exercise any of these rights contact: contact@tracenyx.ai

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email at least 30 days before they take effect. The "last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
Continued use of Nyx after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
